Conversion Considerations

For many years, we have used predominately mercury vapor light bulbs to create our signature “Moonlight” effect. Environmental demands are phasing out the use of mercury in products and eventually mercury vapor bulbs will not be available. We are probably the only company still able to maintain properties with mercury vapor installations.

In anticipation of this, we have been innovating comparable lighting techniques. Now, thanks to recent advances in LED technology, we can reproduce a similar effect and has the benefit of also reducing the energy cost of operating your lighting. Please know – common generic LED bulbs available in stores will not generate the desired lighting effects.

If you have a JWLI design chances are we can convert your existing fixtures and system easily to accommodate the new technology. We are happy to review other installations for modification as well.

Mercury Vapor HID

The consistent, soft and subtle glow by a Mercury Vapor lamp imitates natural “Moonlight” and produces a higher lumens value/intensity than LED. Unfortunately, all photographs capture the light hue as green, but to the human eye it appears lunar white similar to the LED Moonlight example.

Moonlight LED

We use our custom LED lamps and “Moonlight” lens to achieve a similar Kelvin hue and light intensity.

Cool White LED

If an area needs more intense lighting, for safety or security, we can adjust to brighter Kelvin color temperature lamps.
